Removing scratches from marble

If a marble surface has been scratched then the scratch should be removed  by gentle sanding. Start by using a 80 to 100 grit paper and  test on a small area  to ensure the sanding will not damage the surface. Gently sand the scratched area of marble, changing to progressively finer grades of paper (say 200 grit). Once the scratch has been removed finish with the finest paper (say 500 grit).

To restore the polished surface apply a marble polish powder.  These are available at most tile shops.  Complete the job properly by applying Dry-Treat's Marble & Grout Sealer.
